Mrs. Brinza loves her cold drinks! So much so that on the weekends, she grabs a cold coffee and enjoys every sip! But she's noticed that the regular cups at the coffee shop tend to warm up faster than the fancier cups available to purchase at a heftier price tag.
Students easily connected to the idea of a cold drink warming up, especially in the regular, cheap cups. But did we have data to support our claim, that a fancy cup is better than a regular cup? We decided to run our own cold cup test in class! Here is our data!

While we haven't figured out the temperature changes specifically yet, we're seeing that our data seems to support the idea that the fancy cup is working better at keeping the drink cold. Students were asked to model their thinking for how and why the fancy cup worked better. Check out some of these students' ideas!
How can we use student ideas to come to consensus? Check back soon to see each class' ideas!
