We agreed to test each ingredient we could recognize from the bath bomb recipes individually with water to see which would make bubbles. This would help us narrow down the cause of the fizz!
We shared our results, and despite our sadness with the fact that nothing created bubbles individually on their own with water, we narrowed down what we were seeing with substances dissolving. We also agreed that the bath bomb gas wasn't created from a substance + water, but rather a mixture + water. And maybe it took dissolving to make this reaction to happen since so many of our substances dissolved in water!
Now that we've had new things figured out, we left class asking new questions! Check out these new questions!
As we navigate to figure out where the gas in the bath bomb reaction comes from, it's UNANIMOUS! We should look at a mixture of ingredients to see what's causing the reaction!
