How can we design an investigation to gather evidence to support our claims? With limited materials, second graders did just that!
Using water (a liquid) and a marble (a solid) students completed an experiment to collect observations regarding these two different states of matter. What happens to the water when it's in the graduated cylinder and then transferred to the large cup? How about the marble?
We'll be working on finding differences between solids and liquids over the course of the next few weeks!
