So with the lid on and off, we tested what would happen to the cup with a hot liquid in it. But before we collected the data, the prediction unanimously--the one with a lid would not cool down as much as the one without a lid.
But what does this really mean that the temperature dropped? Is air leaving the cup? Or heat? Or water? As we know some of the liquid has to be evaporating right? How can we show the temperature is dropping? What else can we do to see what's happening in the cups?
