After careful thought about what we could use safely in our classroom, we are beginning to make our dirty water with things that could represent what goes into sink and toilet drains, as well as drains outside in our yards and streets. It's certainly been interesting seeing what happens to the water and the items as each and every item was added. And we all could agree that the water was gross, but certainly not as gross as the real water in the sewer would be!
Before we mixed in each item, we documented what it looked like in hopes of trying to see what happened to it once we mixed it in!
The water certainly looked GROSS after...
But we weren't really sure everything could be identified in the water. We didn't have agreement on what we could and couldn't see. This will help us with the plans we'll create for attempting to clean the dirty water! Stay tuned!
