Kindergartners are trying to find ways to change the motion of a car. How can we get it to go farther? Faster? Closer? Slower? Students completed a fair test, changing the height of the ramp by one block for each trial. They measured the distance the car traveled, creating a data table. What patterns do you see? What distance is the shortest? The longest? What happens to the car's distance that it travels as you increase the height of the ramp? Below you'll see how students had to extend their thinking with a bike. How could we get a bike to travel slowly? Quickly? Keep up the great thinking, Kindergartners! |
