We figured these fancy cups were manufactured for both cold and hot liquids, so we ran an investigation looking at what happens with each of our experiments with hot water!
Our data told some interesting stories, and we figured out the following:
Lids, thicker walls, and the type of material definitely play a role in keeping something hotter. We also figured out that hot water's temperature changes more than that of cold water over the same period of time. We've got so many questions about this...
But it's time to get our thinking out...here are some examples of models students developed to explain their thinking on how the cups functioned along with how their parts played a role in this!
