With all the possible features that can impact how a liquid in a cup stays cold, 6th graders are designing some investigations to answer their questions on the DQB. Picking one variable to test, we ended up with each of our nine groups changing one of the following variables:

Our data is telling us a bunch of things (we think)! We think that the lid absolutely makes a difference in keeping the liquid cold, as well as the material and the thickness of the walls. We aren't really sure why, however, and are still lingering with our questions. We're deciding a couple things from here:
1. Do these same tests but with a hot liquid.
2. Isolate one of the parts we think is really making a difference (such as the layers or the lid).
Check back soon for our next steps!
