As we wrap up our study further, we're reading A Long Walk to Water, a story that takes place in Sudan over the course of nearly two decades. This novel has incredible connections to our study, including the availability of freshwater, the quality of it, and the use of groundwater as a drinking source. The political and economic strife that take place in the book, as they all relate to water, truly hits home just how valuable water is to people all over the world. We can't put the book down, and students are so engaged as they realize what they've learned in science connects to the world at large. |
