After attempting to clean our dirty water, we felt a little defeated in that we couldn't remove everything. This got us thinking about a few things. Here they are:
1. Filters are pretty great at getting out big things. We agreed that filters have holes in them and the size of the hole depends on what can get stuck in them and what can pass through them.
2. This also means that we think there's got to be something else that they use at the w.w.t.f since our water is still dirty, and the tools we used had some pretty small holes in them (coffee filters and felt).
Here's the consensus model we built for how filters work:

We're also thinking that if we're going to figure out how they get out other things from the dirty water beyond using filters, we should know what's in our dirty water. So we added new investigation ideas to our list. Here's the gist of them:
So we've begun those tests the last few days and we're finding some really interesting things that we will work towards making sense of over the next few days!
